Well, you called it, Myron -- part of it anyway...
The choke cable was stiff and I think I (or PO) was pulling too hard and bent the little tab that hits the plastic stop that allows the choke to turn off. Once I bent that back into the right place it started right up...
...and ran for two minutes and quit. If I'd let it sit, it kept doing that -- running for two minutes and quitting. Checked the vents and changed the fuel lines... no difference.
So on the "float advice I took of the bowl again and there in the bottom of the bowl WAS THE MAIN JET! Guessing that that's not good (!) I screwed it in this time (I'm guessing I just didn't do that) and it started right up and I rode it all over town. Yea!!!!
I do need to adjust it a bit, but I have 4mph faster than I did! (43, now.) I still have a slight surge at top end that must be a vacuum leak, but for now, I'm just happy to be able to ride it!
