I never had any problems. I think the design was made to work fine in the rain. It rains a lot in Japan. The Supercub is the defacto delivery bike in Japan, mail, newspapers, ramen, ... They don't get a break just because it's raining. The big problems I had was with my visor steaming up, a little (very little) dish washing soap spread on the inside takes care of that. Put a small dab on a paper towel and smear a very light coat on the inside of the visor. It should be very clear and only blur the view a tiny amount. They also make some good products that do the same thing.
