RE: [Honda-C70] Re: Ok I embarrassed to ask, but I know nothing about motorcycles....

I am not making fun of you but you need to read & understand the maintenance & service guides at the bottom of the page before you do something like pore oil on the ignition or drain the cam chain tensioned. The only screen I know of on a c70 is part of the clutch & gets cleaned rarely because it doesn`t need service often. There are 2 drain plugs on the bottom of the motor. The one on the shifter side is the cam chain adjuster . Leave it alone! The other 1 with kind of a casting wall by it is the engine drain plug . The oil goes back in the dip stick hole ,over by the kick starter. Pore in 1/2 a quart then check the level with the bike straight up & dip stick not screwed in . Add small amounts until the oil is where you want in the marks on the dip stick. You might also want to read the link marked Shlaes.com at the bottom of the page . Common sense stuff on c70`s that is easy to read & understand. I hope this helps .Good Luck ! Baby Huey PS spend the money to get 20W50 motorcycle oil ,not the " car" oil that has low friction additives that will wreck your clutch. If you riding at " Parade speed " with a child on a bike your motor will need heavy oil to not over heat.

I've been using Shell Rotella T 10w40 i think. It's in the yellow bottle. It's a diesel oil and as such doesn't have what are called friction modifiers, which reportedly reek havoc on motorcycle systems. It's cheaper than MC specific oils and can be found most anywhere. I plan to switch to MC oil later on but for the first few changes after sitting Rotella is good for me.

I know enought to pull the drain plug and clean the screen. Also there is a fill hole about the shifter?? What type of fluid goes in there. I cant see anything in there now. Please dont make fun of me, I warned you I know nothing about it..?? ..
