Hi Mike,
 I bought a silver '83 about 2 years ago with 2300 miles and no compression.
Mine turned out to a stuck and bent intake valve. I pulled the head checked the
cylinder which looked alright and replaced  the valve
Im not saying that this whats wrong with yours, but probably a good place to
start looking.
