RE: [Honda-C70] Re: Still No Spark!

6 volt coils have different windings than 12 volt CDI bikes coils. My 81 6v had a bad spark plug cap that prevented it from starting . After I replaced the coil & coil wire ,condenser , spark plug & starter relay ,set the tappets & timed as best I could with no spark. I gave up & haled it to a shop. The mechanic said " it had hi ohm`s at the cap & the points were glazed " so he put on a new cap & cleaned the points with brake cleaner on a rag. He said it started on the 2nd kick. $2 for the cap & $4o labor. I still have some hair & beard left after 3 months of frustration. Have you asked on the clone site if anyone has an idea? Good Luck! Ok, the help you all have provided has been invaluable unfortunately i'm still in the same boat:

So far I have:
1-replaced the spark plug
2-replaced the ignition coil(there was a small crack in the high tension shielding)
*are different ignition coils needed for 6v and 12v bikes?
3-replaced the cdi
4-checked the blk/red cable ACV from engine - 40+ when rolling
5-checked the blue/wht cable ACV from engine - around .2-.4 when rolling(hard to tell i have an analog meter but it did move)
6- bypassed the ignition kill switch by connecting the red and black ignition wires

I've cleaned all the connecter pertaining to the ignition system and still nothing. Would taillight cables somehow affect this?
Also I have a 4 wire rectifier, could someone please tell me how to test it to see if its working properly?

I appreciate all the help you guys! back to cleaning connecters

Wishing i was riding,
