Sounds like the short seat December 71 (72 model year) one. That's what I have. Love it!

My original seat was ripped up so I put a modern solo seat on it (brown/white) and it looks great. Looks like this one, but I'm not sure that's it exactly, I don't think my underneath looks like that, it's brown where this one looks grey:
