Re: [Honda-C70] Re: Quick poll: replace tranny or put in Lifan 120cc?

Sorry, I guess we did, but I sure learned a lot.  and my opinion would be to fix it up the way it is and not put in a replacement engine.  but that is just me, I like to restore things and not mod them.

You guys hijacked my thread!

Getting back on track, any other thoughts on whether to switch to the Lifan? I'm now leaning in that direction.

I loved that low gear as I could go up hills that looked straight up.  He traded it for a 125 dirt bike and I think they gave him 100 bucks for it on the trade.  Oh well, that was the 70s.  My girl friend, who is thankfully a lot lighter than I am, wants the Express to ride on the campus at the university where she teaches.  I think it will do fine for that.M

I would prefer to keep whatever I get stock, just like things that way.  A guy is trying to tell me that I can put a new head and cylinder on the Express and get 70cc but then you have to buy a new carb, then a new exhaust.  Rather just have it all there when I get it.thanks again

It vibrates so much at idle that I feel like I'm riding a vintage sport bike. Kinda gives me a good feeling, but also can be annoying at times when your feet vibrate too much while riding at slow speeds.

With a small bike like a C70, you need all the power you can get if you ever find yourself in a compromising situation. I would also get a slightly larger rear tire, for more stability. I went one size up on both front and rear, but now my speedo lies to me, so I need to get that changed back to stock size.
