Re: [Honda-C70] Re: Can I do something to increase speed??

HI,
I think you can get pretty close to 55  with your passport, changing the front sprocket for a bigger one and with good tunning make sure your carburetor is super clean and it haves the right jet. I do 50 in my passport when I push it  45 comfortably and I have the stock sprocket. I think some cdi  and some carburetors have restrictions. you should check for that. I am not sure if you have points or a cdi but I know for a fact that  bikes w/ points go  a little faster. If all that fails get a honda 90cc or a lifan engine they swap very easy.

Good luck with your project.

It is strange that almost the first question I am asked about my passports around town are "How fast does it go?" then from new owners "how can I make it go faster".
A good Running classic passport can cost as much as faster newer used motorcycle, Obviously we are not in it for the speed.
I keep mine for the nostalgia and to own a bit of working history, plus the eclectic look and feel of owning something that is usually much older than the person asking about it.
In a world of throw away plastic and video games , to see good quality and craftsmanship still in use after all these years will turn heads and lend a blast from the past.
A nice looking passport will usually gather a crowd at scooter rallies and meet-ups rides. I often hear from organisers that "we even have a old honda passport in our group" when recruiting new members.
Its not about speed but about getting thier in style.
A honda passport parked, in itself is a thing of beauty at zero miles per hour.

Even if he did wear off 100 Lbs or so being drug by the truck he would surely end up with 100 Lbs. of casts & bandages . Next they will tell some one to go to the airport & stand behind jets taking off for a quick tan [extra crispy] . The days of 50`s 70`s & 90`s being learner bikes are gone . If you need 55MPH you need a 250cc or larger bike just to not be run over by an SUV driver on their cell phone. Baby Huey`s 2 cents
