First off, a s65 carb is totaly different from the c70 the round part of the carb is what goes towards the head the flange part is mounted to the frame and goes to the air filter. If you somehow mounted this carb to your manifold it would be backwards.
Second, if you rebuilt the bottom end to fix a compression issue without doing anything on the top end (this is where the compression is) you waisted your time and a gasket set.
Are you sure the timing is set correctly? Sounds like a valve or timing problem.
Who did the rebuild? If you paid someone take it back (or get your money back) they have no idea what they are doing.

I guess i could explain the whole situation. It's running terrible, so I replace the carburetor. It still runs terrible switch carburetors with my Honda S65 which runs really good. Still doesn't work. I figure fuel isn't the issue so i move to spark. First I replace the coil and the boot to see if that's what the issue was but there's no change. Next I replace the CDI. No change. Next i move to compression, so i rebuild the bottom end but there's still no change. There's one thing that hasn't been changed that would have anything to do with it running bad it seems like, the head, which includes the valves. So i figure that's what my issue is.
