Until you let us how far off you are, I'm hesitant to suggest this as
a solution.
Have you replaced the cam chain?
I would put a new one on before I would go to extreme lengths to
adjust cam timing.
If the chain is worn, you could be quite a few degrees off.
Other than a sheared key on the flywheel or a damaged or slotted cam
sprocket - there are no other reasons for cam timing to be off.
Unless you are racing, I don't recommend changing the cam timing.
The problem in almost surely something else...
