Did you take the screw all the way out? There is a slot on the shaft the screw goes sits in, the screw must be removed all the way out for the lever to be removed.

Can't seem to get mine off. I've tried WD-40 but it's still on there pretty tight. I've also tried hammering apart the gap on the bottom but it doesn't seem to be helping. Can someone help?
