[Honda-C70] Re: Carb needle/float assembly pic-WANTED!

Hello ?

The pictures in the free online 1980-81 shop manual aren't very clear, but here is a clear picture of the float and float valve, but not the relationship to the carb nor each other.

Keeping that picture in mind and looking at the murky pix on page 43 and on in the manual, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out what goes where, knowing a few basic principles.

the fuel comes into the carb through the shut off valve/filter assembly. Following the flow through whatever hollow tubes there are in the carb body, the next stop is the float shut off valve.

The float pivots on the float pin (page 43) by gravity and as the fuel rises in the float bowl, the tab on the float assembly usually presses on the spring end of the float valve, pushing the black rubber tip end into the float valve seat in the body, cutting off the fuel flow. That is generally how it works for all the carbs. Even your 750s I would imagine?

How did it look when you took it apart? Or did it arrive in pieces?

Cleaned tank and carb etc. Bike starts and idles but I have not been successful in repeated attempts to assemble the needle/float and carb continues to flood. Once again, the bike is unmolested and has never been worked on previously. All the pics I have seen in the various online manuals are very fuzzy and I need to see a very clear pic of how the float and needle go in. I just finished a complete 4 carb overhaul on my 72 CB750K and working on this simple nearly new scoot should be so easy that "a cave man could do it"....Any pics or links would be greatly appreciated... HELP!!
