Clutch is slipping.
The kicker moves the transmission shaft, the transmission turns the
clutch outer hub, the bump-start and kicker mechanism of the clutch
overcomes the idle springs and the clutch grabs, the clutch turns the
inner hub and the crank.
If it is slipping at first part of the kick - the clutch kicker mech
is engaging slowly (normal for a 30 yo bike).
If it slipping the latter part of the kick - the clutch plates are
probably slipping.
