OK
For the starter we can not say what is wrong without troubleshooting!!
It could be the neutral switch or wiring or the indicator lamp is bad and the
starter relay is also bad or maybe a broken wire .
The thing to do is try some simple troubleshooting.
The neutral switch is under the left rear cover, just forward and above the front
chain sproket. A light green with red tracer color wire. With the ign switch "ON"
if you short the wire to "ground" the indicator lamp should come on.
If it does, then the start button should also close the start relay and the battery
should turn the starter motor.
One of the big problems is the neutral switch touchs the neutral ramp on the
shift drum but the resistanc from that to the engine case to the frame is so
hight the lamp does not work or if it does the resistanc is still so HI the relay
does not close fast and the relay contacts burn.
Some of thes problems can be overcome but we need to trouble shoot
them to find a good fix.

replaced the battery in my '80 c70 with a new fully charged unit. brake light work, right front and rear turn work, left front works, but stays solid. back left does nothing. when the bikes in neutral, the light on the speedo is not coming on. the starter does not work either.
o.k., i know the bulb on the back left turning signal needs to be replaced. neutral light not coming on means new neutral switch? any help greatly appreciated. take care.
