Jared,
The ignition on your clone is one of the simplest to troubleshoot, in my opinion. The stator coil that generates power for lighting and battery charging is not involved with the stator coil that produces power for the ignition, despite being just inches apart.
Basic tests:
Black/Red wire from the engine should have 40 or so AC Volts at kickover, the power source for the CDI module.
Blue/White wire from the engine should have a fraction of a Volt AC at kickover, this is the pulser that teels the CDI to make a spark.
Green from the engine is ground. This wire must be connected to the engine case, the ignition coil body, and the CDI module ground wire. Use a multimeter or a test light to verify these connections are rock solid. If you don't know how, its OK to ask.
In my files folder, there is a 25 page document on how to troubleshoot the CDI system... its the C70 Honda manual one-pager expanded to one test per page.
The fact your bike died when wet suggests a bad connection, or a connection that is grounding out. Often an electrical repair involves nothing but a labor of love: dismantle even the cleanest-looking connection, clean it out with a Q-tip and DeOxit, reshape it with thin needle nose pliers to make it tight if needed, apply a dab of silicon dielectric grease, and reassemble. Repeat for every connector on the bike. Any connector that is corrroded, mangled, rusted or unserviceable is replaced. All wire is inspected for cuts or missing insulation.
Anything grounded is ubolted, the metal involved in making the ground connection is cleaned and shined to the bare metal, and a thin film of silicon dielectric grease is applied before bolting things back together.
You may have had a hard parts failure, easily determined using the troubleshooting chart.
