[Honda-C70] Re: Problems changing gears/shifting

Mike,
This is a problem I had after working on my bike once. I had removed the gear shift pedal and when I put it back on I set it to where the toe operator was a little higher. I never use the heel part anyway. Well when I tried to pull out of the garage there was nothing, no 1st, 2nd or third. Only neutral. Since I had just put the engine together after a total tear down all sorts of problems were going through my head. I tried moving the gear shift by hand and found it was hitting the foot peg. Relocated it a little and everything worked again. There is also a little arm with a roller bearing on it that limits how far the gear shift can move for each gear. This could be broken and allow the shift drum to rotate to far and get lost in between gears. You will have to remove the right side cover to see this part but if the shift lever is in the right position you may have to remove it anyway to find the problem. Let us know what you come up with.

I have tried readjusting the clutch but that did not help resolve the problem. Now the scooter won't even shift over to 1 and just remains at neutral... Anyone have similar troubles? Is this a clutch or transmission issue? The pedal used to shift feels stuck? Any ideas on how to approach this? I miss riding this beauty!
