hi. i'm happy to be a new member of the group. i recently purchased a 1983 honda passport, c-70 scooter. i live in albany, ca, which is located right next to berkeley. this is my first time owning a scooter. i plan to use it for my primary local transportation. other than the annually-published dmv motorcycle pamphlet, i've found very little information about the rules of the road for scooter use in a semi-urban area. i'd kind of like to learn more about the do's and don'ts of everyday usage as well as information on parking regulations, etc. if there's anyone in my area, who is a veteran scooter rider who could write to me and share any advice, i'd appreciate it. i'm assuming that i need to take a test and obtain some kind of motorcycle license, but, after talking to triple a, the dmv, and the local police department, i can't even get a definitive answer on that. thanks much.
