Well, someone else watches E-bay auctions...and I had several on a watch list . .this 1 is a relatively easy drive to go pick up, it is also a '81 which means we have experience with same year. I like the color . .I am Woman so that is always on our list. .
I've had lots bigger bikes, but I cannot pick up a bigger bike now, I can't go on long rides now.
A really bad Buick hit my little red Mazda truck going between 80-90 miles an hour. I was 8.5+ months off work, 2 surgeries, will never walk without pain, didn't think I would ever be able to run a bike again.
So, yes, I could have tossed in a high bid, I could have bought a new bike, I could have decided to give up when the orthopedic team told me I might never walk independently again.
So, my gold, my life and my choices . . if I was you, I would not be going up to the state line next weekend to look over and pay the remainder on this little treasured bike that will go from the current owner to my ownership . . .
If I was my friend Nancy, I would be on disability, in housing, living in poverty . . and way overweight . ....
So, Yes, I did pay more than I might have gotten the bike for. . but since I do NOT have a husband to control me but date a terrific guy who laughed when I told him . . and then asked when we were going up to get my new bike it works in my little world. Maggie in IL
