Are you in Portland?
On the left menu under "Files" theres one method.
I have done three tanks and here is my method. You'll need about 1/4 gallon
of diesel fuel, and 1/8 gallon of gas, and some metal media.
First, drain and remove the tank. Flush it out with brake parts cleaner
(nasty stuff, but it works). Plug the fuel outlets with a piece of fuel line
looped onto both outlets.
Then, gather two or three good handfuls of small mixed metal objects. Nuts,
small bolts, screws, BB's, star washers, etc etc. But not too small as to
possibly get wedged into small creases and welds. Add 1/2 of the diesel
fuel and 1/2 of the metal media. Put the cap on and shake and swirl the
media for at least five minutes. This will knock off the flaky rust and
residual muck. Dump the first batch.
Repeat with the other 1/2. This round you may want to shake for longer,
depending. Check it off-and-on and see how it looks with a flashlight. When
you're satisfied, dump the second batch.
Add the gas and shake and swirl that in the tank to flush out the diesel.
Dump it. Mount it and go.
If it is really rough, you may want to line it with Kreem.
