Why stiffer?
Does the rear tyre touch the inside of the rear mud guard?
Soft springs are best for spine.
If you inflate the rear tyre up past max recommended, you would feel all the unevenness of the road.
Here, people sometimes put an external spring, on top of all the shock assembly, and it is visible from outside.
