Are you sure it's a 6 volt headlight?
E-Bay sellers may (or may not) know what they are selling you. But as long as your credit card/Paypal clears they are happy.
It should be a Sealed Beam unit, probably with color matched wiring that plug and plays for you. You can check out the correct light and wiring diagrams here in the files section or buy the correct 6 volt light (or a version with replaceable bulbs) at DR ATV, the links are on this web site.
Replacing all the little instrument bulbs is a good idea too. I had the same issue with my '81 when I replaced the headlight. Once you have it out just replace them all, just in case.
There are excellent wiring diagrams in the files section, including the color coding.
