[Honda-C70] Re: Head lamp wiring help

Hi steven, don't worry because it's no big deal, in this situation you can't hook it up "wrong", the possible results are it'll either work, not work, or work but hi and lo beam are swapped; but nothing will be harmed no matter how you hook it up. It would even be perfectly safe to just try all possible combinations until you figure it out through trial and error.

But my guess is that black is ground, red is low beam and blue is high beam. I would plug black into one of the green receptacles inside the headlight area, red to the low-beam plug (I think on the bike it's colored white, and should be female since it's a power output) and blue to the blue hi-beam plug. If you want the hi-beam light on the dash to work then you'll need to figure out a way to plug it's blue wire into the blue plug as well (perhaps you could cut the blue double-female connector off the old lamp and solder it onto the new one or onto the bike somewhere).

If you wish, you can test beforehand with a bench power supply or other source of 6V (such as a battery from the bike). Using two jumper wires, one clipped to positive and the other to negative you can try applying power to the terminals to verify the pinout. As long as you are sure whatever you use is really a 6V supply and not 12V etc this will also not carry any chance of harming anything.

The head lamp i took off was the original stanley model, the one i got none of the color wires matched, tried makin sense of the wiring diagram ive found on other sites but it just doesn't make sense. On the new lamp i got there is a red, black and blue wires. On the old lamp there is blue, yellow and white. And on the old lamp there is a blue wire that has a connection for two wires and on the new lamp there is only one. Im scared to hook it up wrong. And stupid me didn't make sure i knew what was what when i was unplugging things in there, i must have been to excited or something. I hope somebody can help me hook this light up as this is the last thing i need to do on a great little. Thanks
