The stock 'bulb' is actually a sealed beam light. That is to say that the 'bulb' is not meant to be replaced, they expected you to change the whole bulb and lens fixture.
Solutions:
I saw somewhere where someone cut the old bulb from the reflector and fashioned a mount for a new bulb.
The easier solution would be to get a new lens/reflector/bulb from dratv. I got one and it's a decent fit. They have the adapters to make the wiring plug and play. Order a spare bulb while you're at it.
As mentioned, make sure your battery is good because a dead battery will cause the bulb to blow!
