Fellows,
I am still having a problem with my 81 C70. I put new points in and put the cam sproket as close as possible to the timing mark. The engine runs like a kitten for a couple of miles. The ignition timing is back where it used to be. The new points did wonders. I replaced all the engine gaskets stopping shot of splitting the cases and rebuilt the carb with all new O-rings. Stopped the overheating issue it had. Adjusted the valves and the cam chain tensioner and that got rid of a lot of the noise. Most was from the valvs. Still though after the engine gets hot a still hear a metallic sound like something being flung around at random. Does anyone have an idea what is causing this? I have a flywheel puller ordered and will pull the flywheel and check the cam chain tensioner for wear. If all else fails I will split the cases and look inside.
