[Honda-C70] Re: 1981 C70 Passport - Getting it Started..

Yes, one hose is the "primary" or "normal" fuel source, the other is the "reserve". The idea is that if you run out of gas on the primary, the reserve is tapped from a lower point in the gas tank so that you still have enough gas in the tank to get to a station to refill. What you don't want to do, unless it is on purpose (like drainig the tank as much as possible) is to run out of gas on "reserve". I seem to remember in my manual that it specifically states that you should only run the Passport on "primary" or "normal" and I believe there was a picture of the petcock, but it has been a LOOONG time since I messed with my Passport and could be confusing the owner's manual with the Clymer repair manual I bought when I bought the Passport. One of my to-do's this year is to dig my Passport out and get it running this summer.

My question I have two hoses coming from the gas tank running into the carb at the toggle valve switch. Should both hoses be filled with fuel? Also, what are the various position the valve can be in? I've looked in the manual but can't find the different positions.
