Re: [Honda-C70] 2 rear axles?

Bill, what GOOD information! In all my years, my first step has always been to
separate the chain and then remove the whole wheel and sprocket/drive flange all
together. From you, I've learned something new today. Thank you!

To remove the rear wheel, Honda designed a neat installation. You disconnect the
rear brake rod, the rear brake torque
arm at the rear brake backing plate and swivel it out of the way, then you take
the smaller nut off on the left side of the bike.
The smaller nut is the rear wheel axle bolt. The larger nut is the sleeve axle
for the drive flange. The drive flange will stay along with
the rear drive chain. Then you pull the rear axle bolt, the right side rear
wheel spacer will fall out, the right side axle adjuster will
come with the rear axle bolt. Now the rear wheel will slide to the right off the
drive flange and you can remove the wheel from the
bike.

So I removed the rear wheel as per Velodrome's instructions, & I'm a little
baffled here. I was fiddling with the rear wheel (with someone sitting on the
front seat to balance the bike on the block until I could push it forward) until
I realized there was another rod connecting the flange to the wheel, yet I can't
figure out where the hell it goes. I mean, I swear I pulled out the rear axle
from the same place. My mind = blown
