Eddie, if you're installing the 125 cc Lifan, more than likely it is a kick start engine. It won't have the electric start option on it. You may want to access Dr.ATV site and look at the wiring diagram that is posted on Jack's site. Dr.ATV provide you with an option of maintaining the current 6 volt system on your Passport or replacing all the electrical to a 12 volt system. Just go to the Lifan engines and parts section and you'll see the wiring harness and voltage reducer that he carries in stock. You could also send Jack an email direct and he will guide you to the parts that you'll need. Another option you have is to contact Jon Pardue from the Honda Clone group and ask for his suggestions. He could guide you in making your own wiring harness and voltage reducer. All I could tell you is that you'll enjoy the additional power from the 125cc. Just make sure that your brakes are in good shape and your tires have plenty of threads left. Have fun and
ride safe!!

Hi everyone,
I just ordered and plan installing a Lifan 125CC Engine in my 1981 Passport. I know the Lifan is a 12V system and my bike has a 6v System. What's all required for the switch?
Will I have to switch all my light sockets such as buying a whole new head light assembly or can I simply buy 12V bulbs and put them in my bike.
I'm assuming certain things such as the horn and signal relay.
Also will I have to completely swap the wire harness? The set I ordered for the engine includes new wire harness and CDI, Ignition coil, etc etc.
Thanks a lot everyone!
