Hey everyone, I have a few questions for you. I have an '80 passport. I bought it a few months ago with over 10k on it. I'm quite pleased with it even though it's showing its age. As I've been replacing old parts and restoring it the best I can; I noticed that the previous owner cut the end of the exhaust pipe off were it starts to taper back down...So I'm left with a megaphone type exhaust. At high speeds my C70 sometimes cuts out....it sounds like I'm not getting enough fuel. After I let it sit and loosen the gas cap (just in case its not venting) it starts right back up. So I'm thinking that
1. I have crud in my fuel lines or fuel filters,
2. I'm draining the fuel bowel @ high speeds or
3. My vent cap is not venting and I'm creating a vacuum in my fuel tank
My question as I research this problem is, Does my megaphone exhaust have something to do with the issues I'm experiencing at high speeds? Granted I don't think that having crud in my fuel lines or a vent cap thats not venting are related, but this is my first step into the world of valved engines and I didn't know if the exhaust would cause to much flow through the engine. Thanks!
