Tom, as previously advice by Bill, if you decide to put a Lifan in, make sure you get it from a reputable seller like DR.ATV. Jack (owner of Dr. ATV) has been very helpfull and he has the smarts behind the product that he sells to assist you should you get into a pickle. I have seen unknown motors sold on Ebay that the seller is trying to pass off as Lifan. There is another maker (Zongshen) that makes a pretty decent engine. Most of these sellers on Ebay will mismatch the carburator and the engine runs like a pile of junk. Luckily for me, I have a complete set of orifice drills that allow me to redrill the jet to the right size. The advantage of a Lifan over the original 72cc are more horsepower, additional gearing (4 speed instead of 3) and the voltage regulator to preserve your bulbs. But don't count on retaining the resale value like it was unless you stick the original engine back on the bike. I have notice that my gas mileage has not dropped
significantly with the 120cc due to the additional gearing and as long as I ride it the same way as the original 72cc.
The person on this group that have a lot of experience under his belt with Lifan engines is Jon Pardue, he is the wizzard you should consult. He is also on the Honda Clone group. I hope this is helpfull to you and have fun with what ever you decide.

Getting back on track, any other thoughts on whether to switch to the Lifan? I'm now leaning in that direction.
