You're right.. the price is all over the place.
There is a database that's growing in the database section, and it gives members purchasing experiences. Pay close attention to the amounts that had to be spent to get it road worthy. A bike with only 100 miles on it to me isn't as good as 1 with 6000 miles on it. That bike still has 30 y.o. fuel systems and worse yet, might have a nightmare in the tank, depending on how your dad stored it. It will need a battery, a carb rebuild, a tank cleaning, maybe something done with the points, and what about the oil....eewwwww icky. Anyway, read that database and price it accordingly.
Now if you want. Do all the stuff to get it going yourself and put new tires on it, and sell it on ebay. Might get more money that way.
