[Honda-C70] Re: Can I do something to increase speed??

Instead of focusing on what a Passport can't do (55mph), think about what it can do (35-40 all day long). It gets incredible mileage. 17" wheels make it far less twitchy than many of it's small wheel counterparts. Replacent parts are abundant and can be relatively inexpensive if you are a savvy shopper and know where's to look. Theyre easy to work on and nearly indestructible.

Would I mind a little extra oomph? Sure. Do I want to invest $300 into a $1000 cycle to gain 5-7 mph? No really. Nor do I want to drop 35lbs of weight from my frame, which would benefit both me and my C70. A big bore kit, sprocket, and carb seem like the most reasonable approach, but the value isn't there for me. A quick search of craigslist in my area had dozens of roadworthy cycles capable of hwy speeds for <$900. None of them were passports. Enjoy your bike for what it is.

I get asked all the time "how fast does it go". I usually say "only 85mpg". :)
