where it states that Honda was first to use polyethylene.
If we could only make things in that spirit again here :(
As to the correct 'melting' temp, looking at
http://www.machinist-materials.com/comparison_table_for_plastics.htm
doesn't seem to help much? :( Maybe 250 F for a kind of polyethylene.
