The little yellow ones were more expensive because miners used them as a" safety men". If the bird fell off his perch DEAD ,you got out fast or joined him . There are still Woolworth store but they are craft stores now ,any birds are fake. Baby Huey

Interesting. The onlu place I ever heard them referred to as Budgerigars was in the UK.

I was thinking of the ones they used to sell in the back of FW Woolworth when there still were Woolworth stores. They labeled the green ones "parakeets", they sold back then for around $5.00 and the bright yellow "canaries" were a little more expensive at around $7.50 or so.
