RE: [Honda-C70] Re: Engine won't turn over

Bangup : If you are uk & the guides at the bottom of the page are for north american models we may be comparing apples to oranges. We are blind as to what your bike is ,but it may be similar to what we have or not at all. There is a section on removing the head that will tell you to aligned the O on the cam chain with the O on the cam gear at TDC with both valves closed. If the 3 cam bolts don`t lineup with the bolt holes in the cam your chain is not timed correctly. I have pulled the head twice on my c70 but I put a stiff wire through the cam chain in 1 side out the other just above the cylinder so the chain couldn`t drop down & off the crank gear. But if you have a stuck piston & need to turn the crank , "pinning the chain " will not work for you. The cam cover is held on by a long bolt that goes through the center of the cam with the head of the bolt on the other side of the bike. Take the bolt out of the finned plate to remove the cam gear cover. I hope this is of some help . Baby Huey

It is an automatic and the engine will not turn over using the kick start. I'm wondering if the piston has seized in the cylinder. How do I check for this and does it mean (if so)that a new top end is required? . If I need to take off the cylinder head is there any problem with the cam chain/timing when I put it back. Thanks for any help/suggestions
