Re: [Honda-C70] 1981 C70 Passport - Getting it Started..

Thanks to all for your help. I replaced the plugs, filled with fuel, adjusted to idle via the stop throttle screw and I'm good to go. I still have to remove the circular air cleaner but I'll order one before I start sawing the old filter in half. The group is a wealth of knowledge and thanks for sharing it with me and others.

My 82 had the round filter that might have been original as it seemed it was fused to the housing. I think i hacksawed paper filter to remove the tin coffee can end, and used tin snips to remove the actual ring around the rubber(plastic) housing part. No way it was coming apart it seemed to me also! Scott

John: You may need to look further down the on line manual until you get to 20-1 & beyond sections for " newer bike info". Someone correct me if I am wrong about the 20`s being 12volt bike section. Baby Huey

Thanks Myron,
I have the 1982 and I downloaded the 1980- 1983 (1980-83 C70 Honda
Service Manual) which shows the square air filter on section 3-4 (Pg 24).
If this is not he correct manual for the 82 could someone give me the URL.
The cover says Honda Shop Manual '80 - '82 "#NA50508111 C".
I have the round air filter and I quit trying to remove it since I didn't
want to break something. Any removal tips will be appreciated.

I have finally figured out the petcock and need to test it to see if I have
good fuel flow from both lines.

Thanks again.
