[Honda-C70] Re: Motorcycle Oil

Thanks.
I already did it half a day ago. I would have avoided additive if I had read your email.
3 minutes of flush additive. I see slight loss in kick strength and for that I kick myself, really do. It was a clear watery liquid, most probably concentrated caustic, then drained the almost black oil.
Then I added 20W60, yes 60. I might add some engine treatment also.
I also have 15W40 Shell R3X diesel engine oil but I will use it either in winter or with engine treatment to make it thicker. Also have a can of 20W50.

Ever since Iv bought it in '86, Iv never cleaned the oil screen. On next oil change I plan to do that.

Yes our temp goes above 118F in summer. So atleast 20W50 and cheap oil and regular change is the formula for me.

"(imagine a cute or dirty tagline here)" That's cute :)

I was thinking of doing that here in California, but I seldom drive my bike in the heat of the day so I think 10W-40 is perfectly fine for summer, but then 90 is pretty hot for here. If I were driving in 100+ weather I think 20W-50 would be a better choice.
